My Story...Hi! I'm Pippa...
In 2013, I founded All Manner of Things to better support the needs of academic and community leaders embedded across multiple institutions, with a primary focus on context specific role-based mentoring and succession planning, career and life/leadership mentoring, and well-being support. The creativity, intelligence, and ethical index of the people I work with in my mentoring service inspires me every day. On the outside it looks like a lot of listening and countless conversations! On the inside, it's about newly perceived realities; and working together in ways we know will really make a difference. |
When people ask me how I “got here” I usually discuss serendipity and the fact that I grew up in house where my mum worked as an unparalleled educator in English Literature and my dad became a Vice-Chancellor – twice!
Such that, after graduating from The University of Melbourne in 1997 with a combined honours Arts/Law degree, studying law and literature in France; working as a solicitor (and migration agent) at the “top end of town;” and volunteering in range of community organisations I joyfully succumbed to a life of education oriented leadership, professional and community development, and mentoring. To no-one's great surprise, I absolutely loved it, and still do. ("And think to yourself, there's no place like home.") |
"I have worked with Pippa over several years and always found that our meetings provide clarity of strategies to move forward and also install confidence to implement action. Over the years, Pippa’s deep understanding of the complex and ever-changing academic environment and her true-to-life approach have empowered me to make priorities that matter to me personally and professionally. This clarity helped me to implement changes and achieve what I set out to do.
In my joint appointment between a university and a health service, Pippa’s understanding of leadership and her exceptional ability to add perspectives around my role have been invaluable. Pippa's uniquely competent insights help me focus on both core and ‘nice to have’ business. Her sensitive, holistic and pragmatic approach opens my mind to new perspectives and opportunities which truly assist to reconcile both my work and soul. The collaboration with Pippa is empowering. Reflection on our work always leaves me with a smile and positive thoughts. I treasure it." |
