All Manner of Things is a Melbourne-based consulting and mentoring service. My clients are academic leaders; change agents; and thought leaders whose reach begins locally and extends internationally in the quest to contend with the changes that have recently been wrought (and revealed) by Covid-19.
They have a passion for developing themselves, their communities, and their disciplines. Their stories and perspectives are peppered throughout this website. With the support of All Manner of Things they continue to design the lives they want to live, the careers they want to have and to create programs, role based networks, and communities of practice that recognise, develop, and support leadership; community-based engagement; and individual and collective well-being... |
"For leaders in Higher Education our biggest challenge is how to maintain core business in periods of unprecedented change. Change is fast paced with both intrinsic and extrinsic drivers. Adapting dynamically to these drivers is often the differentiator between a successful and unsuccessful organisation unit. As Head of a new 'super' school including Medicine, Paramedicine, Psychology, Medical Research, Pharmacy and two research institutes I was challenged to balance longstanding disciplinary identities with a vision for an integrated group that worked together in new ways...Pippa's unique expertise not only successfully supported key leaders to enable this to happen but opened up minds to see spaces and opportunities that no-one knew existed before. Pippa has a deeply sensitive but effective way of working that empowers individuals but challenges their fundamental way of seeing themselves and their disciplines. Always pragmatic in her approach, Pippa has been able to support effective macro and micro change whilst ensuring core business continues, which gives great peace of mind to a leader."

"Whenever I speak to Pippa, I get a new sense of clarity about my situation and what I can do about it. Most importantly, over the years we have been working together, Pippa has helped me see who I really am. In turn, that has helped me be the person I am.
Even when there are still things around about my situation that are challenging, Pippa’s wisdom helps me see it for what it is. I have benefitted enormously from Pippa’s penetrating insights and could not recommend her enough, especially given her warm personality and human touch." Professor Corinna Hawkes, Director, Centre for Food Policy, City, University of London |
"I began meeting with Pippa in 2017, initially to build and consolidate my leadership capacity as I took on a new and senior leadership role. But what developed out of our working relationship became so much more, with the development of a Postgraduate Course Leadership Community of Practice. This Community of Practice, co-moderated with Pippa brought together multiple course leaders, from across separate courses, to create and foster inter-course collaboration and problem-solving towards the innovative enhancement and leadership of courses. Working with Pippa has been incredibly beneficial in enhancing my leadership and career progression."
